Indigenous Student Support

Writing Centre
The tiwšɛmawtxʷ Writing Centre offers free, one-on-one learning support to all enrolled students, in-person or online with anything course-related.

Health and Wellness
Counselling Services
Professional counsellors at VIU tiwšɛmawtxʷ provide immediate, confidential service to enrolled students. Counselling staff can also help you access supports in the community.
First Aid
For non-emergency first aid on campus, visit the front office to be connected to a first aid attendant. All health and safety incidents involving students that occur on campus must be reported within 24 hours. Learn more about reporting health and safety incidents.
Diversity, Equity and Human Rights Office
If you believe you have experienced any form of discrimination, you can get support from the Diversity, Equity and Human Rights Office.
Sexualized violence and misconduct
If you have experienced sexualized misconduct of any form, or if you have been accused of sexualized misconduct, you can access resources and support at VIU.
